Book First Edition
Hardcover. Condition: Good. No Jacket. 1st Edition. This stated First Edition is illustrated with 27 black-and-white line images by the author, complete. The green cloth covered boards are soiled, sunned and have ink marks/drawings. The corners are bumped and the rear board corners are showing the starting to fray. A bit of fraying is also evident at the bottom of the spine. There is about a 3 1/2 inch break to the front gutter and the front free end paper while still attached to the front paste down is loose. There is a mirror image of brown toning, as if paper had laid between the two, browned and left a residual image, on the paste down and the front free end paper. The rear gutter is intact, but the rear end paper and paste down show some foxing. The top edge is dyed dark blue, the other edges are darkened with age and show a few spots. The bottom corners of pages 47-70 have been bent, bumped and straightened during the books life. Of the 188 pages to this volume there are several with spots of foxing.
